With Halloween right around the corner, we thought we could take a look at how to handle a truly scary mess.
Dried play dough on your carpet… aaahhhhhhhhh!!!!
First, try to pick up or vacuum up as many of the dried play dough crumbs and pieces as you can.
Now, take a clean, dry nylon bristle brush and rub it over the affected area to remove as much of the dried play dough- without damaging your carpet.
After you removed as much of the mess as you possibly can, use a clean cloth, dip it into soapy water and let it sit on the area for a while. The moisture will help loosen the play dough! Try using your clean cloth to remove the remaining play dough. Little after little, it should come off completely.
If your carpet absorbed any color, create a mixture of 1 part vinegar and 4 parts water and use a rag to apply the mixture onto the discolored area, until the color is gone. We do suggest that you test the solution on an area of your carpet that is not highly visible, to make sure that you do not cause any damage to the materials.
See, not so scary after all!
