When it come to floors, there is a multitude of beautiful options that one can choose for a home. As a cleaning service, we see it all: Carpet, cement, hard wood, laminate floors and all sorts of tiles.
Today, we had the pleasure of walking through a beautiful new home with travertine tile floors.
The owner asked me how we would clean the travertine tile and here is what The European Clean Team suggests:
First off, keep in mind that travertine is rather sensitive to acetic substances. That means that the finish could be dulled or the the stone could be stained easily if you spill liquids like juice or wine on it. So be careful!
As for the cleaning, The European Clean Team suggests to begin by removing loose dirt, hair or dust bunnies by sweeping the floor thoroughly.
Next, you want to create a warm water and stone soap solution. We would suggest “Black Diamond Stoneworks Limestone and Travertine Cleaner”. This is a ph neutral and bio degradable product that will safely do the trick.
Now, use a clean microfiber mop with your cleaning solution and mop the entire floor.
To finish up, get out a damp cloth and for best results following with a dry cloth.
Good Luck!
